Child Portraits

Pictures are taken in a fun, contemporary style with very simple plain backgrounds so that the children are the only important part of the picture.

Two different types of shoots are available, one lasting approximately 15 minutes, the other an hour,  including an intermediate assessment of results on the studio computer after the first 5 minutes or so. The shoot length will ultimately be decided by the children! Some kids will sit like angels for an hour but others want to wind their mums up after the first minute! It is very important for parents to be an active part of the process to keep their kids engaged throughout the shoot. There is no limit to the number of pictures taken as everything is shot on a high quality digital camera system but the number of successful shots will again be largely dependant on the co-operation of the kids!

Unlike traditional photography, no proof prints are provided with this service so selection will either be from the studio computer or on this web-site. Beautiful watercolour prints, all individually adjusted, printed and assessed, may then be purchased from the files you choose, ready for inclusion in albums or frames.

Family Portraits

This service is aimed at families, couples or individuals who would like a more intensive and varied portrait shoot either in the main studio or in the comfort of their own homes. This service will include variations in outfits, poses and angles within the time allocated. A range of studio lighting will be available even on location or home shoots so that professional results are produced.

The session will last two hours from close of gallery to re-opening so if you are local you are likely to get approximately 75 minutes of shoot time, but extra hours are available for involved shoots. There is no limit to the number of pictures taken as everything is shot on a high quality digital camera system. You will be able to view the images as we progress on a lap-top computer brought to the shoot.

Unlike traditional photography, no proof prints are provided with this service so selection will be from the customer area of this web-site. Beautiful watercolour prints, all individually adjusted, printed and assessed, may then be purchased from the files you choose, ready for inclusion in albums or frames.

Commercial Studio Portraits

This session is intended primarily for flattering facial photographs for publicity purposes in editorial contexts but full length poses may be included on request.

The session will last approximately 25 minutes including an intermediate assessment of results on the studio computer after the first 10 minutes or so . There is no restriction on the number of shots during the session, it is time dependant only.

Unlike traditional photography, no proof prints are provided with this service so selection will either be from the studio computer or on this web-site. Beautiful watercolour prints, all individually adjusted, printed and assessed, may then be purchased from the files you choose, ready for inclusion in albums or frames. The Copy-right remains with the photographer and master files are sent direct to printers as required. No master files are handed to the client. Commission fee includes licence to use in editorial publicity material, books, directories and magazines for two years from date of shoot. For merchandising use, ie, Calendars, Posters, TV or Film use, a separate licence must be purchased.

Landscapes

Glyn Davies has been a professional photographer since 1987, his images filling numerous picture libraries and publishing commissions. He spent the first 25 years of his life in the magical and dramatic Celtic county of Cornwall. This background has continued to influence his life and work over the years, his work being primarily concerned with “the transient qualities of light, seas, mists and stormy skies”. His editorial portfolio includes contributions to Yachting World, Country Living and the London Evening Standard as well as the successful Art Photo Wales on-line gallery launched in the Spring of 2004.

In an eight page article in 'Image' magazine for the Association of Photographers, (see Awards & Publications) Jonathan Briggs (editor) asked Glyn, "One of the things you immediately notice viewing these images is the emotion it generates in people. We saw more than a few tears wiped from eyes (at the Celtic Connections Exhibition first venue) Why do you think it’s having such an effect?"

"Passion! But passion for the spirit of the landscape first and the photography second. I am completely captivated by topography and the elements, but also by the myriad of ways in which humans have interacted with the land, in terms of leisure, industry and society. We are bombarded by millions of landscape images from all and sundry but so many of these leave me cold. My feelings for the landscape are striking a chord with many viewers, in which I have triggered an emotional response they can relate to. By being honest, about both my reaction to the landscape and also to the way in which I photograph, I think I have communicated with people at an unpretentious visual level and I think they appreciate that."

There are numerous exhibitions throughout the year but also large numbers of visitors to the actual gallery in Menai Bridge on Anglesey which continues to attract customers excited by the style, subject matter and fine-art print quality they find difficult to locate elsewhere.

I am writing to offer my congratulations on your recent success in gaining a silver award in the London Photographic Awards series competition 2005. I know it is well deserved and I will most ...
