Annwyl Glyn -- I was at the Nant this past summer when your photos were on display and fell in love with them.Unfortunately they could not fit in my suitcase. This was my second time there and you captured the magic of the place so beautifully - especially the pic of the cottages through the tree - my favourite...Your photo of that tiny iron piece on the beach is sheer genius --- as you can see-- I am a big fan..... I would love to order a copy of your book. Congrats on such a terrific capture of the "Place of Enchantment"

GLYNS BLOG: "This has been like a bloody good read, not being able to put it down. I recommend you all take a look, I have waited for each entry with anticipation and eagerness. The impressive way you describe each detailed entry is fabulous, I almost felt I was there with you. Now sad you have finished and the book [Nant Gwrtheyrn - The Enchantment] is ready. You must continue the blog, it is fascinating. The pics along the way have been beautiful. Thank you for the fascinating insight into your world xxxxx

"We met at your gorgeous gallery just some three
weeks ago.We exchanged a few comments about
photography, your kind of "enigmatic" lovely titles and how they demanded a thorough thinking which would sometimes surpass the time spent on the shots themselves. I simply admire your awesome work!"

BOOK REVIEW
Anglesey Landscapes/
Tirluniau Môn
Whether you’ve had the pleasure of visiting
this stunning part of the world or not, Glyn
Davies’s photographs serve as a wonderful
introduction to the best photographic
locations in the area.
Each photograph is of exquisite quality,
demonstrative of the range of possibilities open to the landscape
photographer, whatever the weather.
Davies annotates each image in English and Welsh,
revealing his emotional response to the dramatic
landscape and the elements within it. Whether you’re
a photographer or art lover, you’ll be delighted by this.
Digital Photographer Magazine, Issue 64 (Dec 2007)
Wonderful photography, Glyn, will do my best to get to the exhibition. No.16 on this sequence is my favourite, beautiful composition and tone.

Simon Brown, Photographer, St Albans
Inspiring and inspired work from someone who can clearly see beyond the obvious, and produces images that demand a close look. I must try to get to the exhibition to see the work in the flesh thing!

'Salt n Ships', an exhibition of maritime drawings and photographs by the father and son team of Welsh artists Gareth & Glyn Davies.
This marks the end of the year of the sea (Hurrah!) and is possibly the best one I've seen over this past year of boring pictures of boats and more boats. Glyn's photographs are well composed and focused and, most importantly, interesting. You can see more of his stuff on his website at www.artphotowales.com .
Gareth's paintings or drawings are similar in size and composition to the photographs but are created using water based crayon and ink. There's a lot of detail in most of them and the colours are strong. A really nice, well presented show.
Ian Jackson, Editor of Art in Liverpool Weblog, www.artinliverpool.com
We saw you on TV last night. It was a very good show, we always watch Jamie Owen's programme. Well done, we thought you were very informative and interesting. Good luck Glyn, we wish you every success.
Ann & Tony Hill, Anglesey
I really enjoyed the exhibition by the way, some friends were with me and they were blown away by some of the photographs. I liked all of them, but out of curiosity I'd like to know how many people chose the same one as me as the best one in the collection. I really liked the small fishing boat on the bottle green water in St Ives. I thought it was extremely clever the way the complementary colours worked to keep your eye moving within the image
Justin Allen Davies, Gringo Design about "Celtic Connections"
I loved seeing your superb maritime prints at the Williamson and was also very impressed by the quality of the prints
Patrick Faleur LRPS, about "Salt n Ships" exhibition
Just a short note to say that it was great to meet up yesterday and also to view those superb images; very much enjoyed!
Graham Brazendale (professional photographer and ProImaging Member) about "Salt n Ships" exhibition
Just to let you know the reason i've visited your website is because I viewed your works in Penrhyn Castle last week whilst we were visiting and i was very impressed with al the pics. You've inspired me to get my SLR out again and work out how to use it properly!

Gallery
From an Amazon.co.uk review: Glyn Davies has a special way of painting with his skilled eye & camera - the pictures astound, can take your breath away, stop you in your tracks & make you want to visit the places he has seen through his lens, & of course hang on your wall. I have visited some of these locations, with some holding extremely special memories in my heart, & I have taken pictures there too - but nothing compares to a Glyn Davies image when he has been there & captured the light 'just right' & the moment in time that was his! I have my eye on a few...

"Can I just say I think your photography is absolutely amazing!! I will definitely be making a stop off to your gallery. My family and I have been travelling to Anglesey for many many years to camp mainly and explore the island. Your photos capture the spirit of the island superbly, love it love it love it!"

Anglesey Landscapes books 1 & 2: "I've had a look through the books and what can I say?
The only time I've seen any number of your digital works was when we visited you at your original shop/gallery in Menai Bridge but what's great to see from the images in the books is that although the medium is now digital the images are still instantly recognisable as Glyn Davies. When we were at your gallery there was one image that caught my attention, "Telford's Rain" and several times since I've thought, "I should have bought that", so it's really nice to see it print.
As always the images don't dissapoint. It's obvious that you know and understand your subject matter, particularly the light.
As I've known you from the early days, knowing the hard times you've had and the amount of hard work you've put into your work and art it's fantastic to see you growing and being so successful. I feel really proud to call you a friend.
We've always bragged about our wedding photographs, now we can tell everyone they were taken by a famous photographer :-)
And finally I think the conclusion for me is that you're still a smart arse when it comes to great photography!

ANGLESEY LANDSCAPES BOOK - VOLUME 2.
"Thanks for the beautiful images Glyn!My favourites are the more monotone images such as 'mystical isles', 'search for lost souls', 'light appeared in the darkness', etc - stunning, atmospheric photographs of mysterious places - lovely titles too :-)
Again, my only disappointment is that I cannot see the real prints in something like A2+ sizes. I'm sure they are something special. Bravo!

ANGLESEY LANDSCAPES BOOK - VOLUME 2.
The Books are superb, I have scarcely put them down and have taken great
pleasure in studying your words alongside the images, I can see myself
returning to them over and over.
To have so much to discover on your immediate doorstep and to capture in
such a powerful way must be so satisfying. Your dedication and motivation
is an inspiration.
Carl Pinnington - Photographer
I love Anglesey.
It's a long way to drive and it's been photographed within an inch of trans-mutating the landscape itself into a pixels. My favourite Anglesey photos come courtesy of Glyn Davies [ http://www.glyndavies.com/ ]. His landscapes are so good they make me want to burn my own eyes out. A bit extreme. And a lie. They're very good. Very very good.

From "Linked-In" testimonials: "It was hard to choose only three attributes for Glyn's work. Glyn took the commission to provide a wide range of mainly North Wales images for the new £14m Management Centre, part of Bangor University Business School. We have received high plaudits from all centre visitors regarding the work, which we hope will provide a showcase for these images. As well as providing images displaying superb artistry and talent, Glyn has been a pleasure to work with; he has a deep knowledge of his craft but also adopts a clear business-like approach to the client-supplier relationship. All the work was delivered on time and to agreed budget."
James Goodman, Director of Strategic Operations at The Management Centre, Bangor Business School.
ANGLESEY LANDSCAPES BOOK: I am delighted with your book. Not only do you have impeccable artistic antecedents, but you also have the eyes and the soul of an artist. Daliwch ati.

I love the book, it really is a beautiful thing! I am looking forward to really giving it the time it deserves. My Mrs saw it on the side and said," wow, why can't you do things like that?" Nice.
I'll drop you line when I have looked at it properly without the noise of my babies banging pots and pans.
Thanks again Glyn, beautiful work.

I have been meaning to write to you ever since I took the new book home following the evening launch. May I congratulate you on a truly excellent publication. The quality of your work goes without saying but in addition I really enjoyed the text and narrative which supports the images. Glad to see that North Wales Fire and Rescue Service get a mention also!

ANGLESEY LANDSCAPES BOOK:
I've been sitting here for over an hour, coffee, chocolate bar and Glyn's book, thought I'd just have a quick skim through before getting on with work. Glyn, you live in a gorgeous part of the country and your pictures are truly beautiful. You must be very proud of this book, really well done. Impossible to pick out one favourite above the others but 'Dusk pushes forward' is certainly in the top league, a fabulous shot.
Simon Brown, Professional Photographer, www.sharpenyourimage.co.uk
ANGLESEY LANDSCAPES BOOK:
I've had a good week to read your book. Having spent quite a bit of time at the Anglesey Race Circuit in recent years, mainly in driving rain and howling gales, I was amazed at how calm North Wales can be! Beautiful book Glyn, good on you for taking a personal project this far - I can see why your tail is wagging! Next time I pass that way, I too would like to see the images 'for real.'
Paul Debois, Professional Photographer, www.pauldebois.com
ANGLESEY LANDSCAPES BOOK:
Although I received your book within two days of ordering it over the phone about two weeks ago, I have only just now found the time it deserved and to thoroughly immerse in your words and images (a rapid glance and knee-jerk comment is not my style). Well, Glyn, talk about bare your soul! You haven't just compiled a set of truly beautiful images with dialogue, you've included a very interesting prologue of what drives you and why it drives you. I am not a landscape photographer but I am left inspired by (and somewhat jealous of) your vision and approach and I am sure any reader will feel likewise. In a word; "fantastic". To everyone else, I cannot recommend this book too highly - if you haven't
yet bought a copy, you are depriving yourself of a visual feast. If you ask Glyn nicely, he might even personally sign a copy for you! (No - Glyn is not paying me any commissions!)

ANGLESEY LANDSCAPES BOOK:
Thank you so much for the book, and your message! It's absolutely gorgeous - so beautifully designed and presented - I'm sure it will sell very well indeed and I wish you the best of luck with it.
You've had some great feedback on your book so far too - all thoroughly deserved, it's a gorgeous book - everyone I've shown it to agrees!

ANGLESEY LANDSCAPES BOOK:
Gorgeous is a good word, if a tad inadequate, bloody well done you. Some specifics: a) Can't find a shot I don't want to look at for a long time, hmmmm, this is probably "a good thing" but I'm no critic!
b) Have you met Joe Cornish? (This is a subtle compliment!)
c) My faves are "Red Hot", "They Hear No More Prayers", "Sky Inversion", "Wind Formed 1" and (especially) "Reflecting Old Times".
What really rocked my boat was the fact that there are no 'fillers' in this book. To put together a collection of 100% beautiful images takes some doing and you deserve all the plaudits you will doubtless get for this work.

ANGLESEY LANDSCAPES BOOK:
What can I say!! I think thats the best 25 quid investment I ever made!
The Images are both stunning and inspirational!
The book is sitting pride of place on our coffee table, and the Missus cant keep her hands off it! I did try to sell her on the idea of a limited edition Glyn Davies fine art print!.. )
Anyhow thanks for the inspiration to get out of the studio and go for a wander with my xpan..
A wonderful, wonderful book.. congratulations and kudos to you.

ANGLESEY LANDSCAPES BOOK:
I spent yesterday evening browsing through your excellent book, read all of
it too, except the Welsh bits!
You can be very proud of this creation, a fantastic set of images in a well
produced book along with evocative text. Very very difficult to pick
favourites, but I tried to narrow it down to three images. If I looked
through again I know I'd be tempted to change my mind!
Aberffraw Storm absolutely stopped me in my tracks. A really super work,
landscape, seascape, skyscape, all reduced to their bare essentials. An
image to die for.
Beautiful Silent Danger. Fantastic light, and I think even without your text
one would feel the danger from the water. The way the stones gradually fade
into the depths of the water, and the surface texture, gives one the clear
impression of water flowing relentlessly out to sea. The large white stone
with its spooky looking seaweed 'fingers' clasping it is such a magnetic
draw for the eye! A wonderful piece of composition!
Wind-formed 1. A feast of contrasts in light and shade, and in texture,
reduced down to black and white tones. I guess this might have been a close
call as to whether to leave the colour in it, or make it monochrome? I love
the contrast from the gritty wind shaped sand, the spiky dark grasses, and
the soft luminous sky. A masterwork.
Many thanks for the book and the inscription, I'll get lots of pleasure
looking at it again and again.
