A beautiful, ethereal and delicate summer rainstorm softens and textures the huge solid towers of Thomas Telford's magnificent suspension bridge. This giant, yet beautifully aesthetic, man-made structure takes a battering from the powerful Menai Strait and of course from inclement Welsh weather, but nearly two centuries later it still stands elegant and defiant, facilitating the passage of thousands of travellers every day of its continued existence.
