After a choppy cold swim at Porth Dafarch, I raced to Ynys Lawd, South Stack to catch whatever wonders of sunset still burned in the powerful storm.
The early light signal at South Stack (the lighthouse was constructed in 1808) comprised 21 oil lamps backed by large reflectors. The latest 150W metal halide bulb, thanks to an amazing lens array, can be seen 20 miles away! This is most definitely an amazing place to be blown away by the lighting.
