The dilapidated but wonderful old lifeboat house at Porth Nigwyl, Moelfre was used between 1875 and 1910, before moving to the new location around the corner, which was built in 1909. "ON325 Star of Hope" was the main, open-topped lifeboat which was stationed here 1892 - 1910. A lifeboat was operating at Moelfre though from 1848.
