Harbour View, Valletta, Malta

Winning entry in the 2019 (31st) SUN Shot up North Awards

Nominated in 10th (2017) International Colour Awards (Architecture category)

Above a slipway below the guns of the fortress at Valletta, overlooking the Grand Harbour and the Three Cities of Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua, I watched families in tiny windows going about their daily life. I was taken aback even seeing folk there as it looked like an industrial harbour wall. There is such wealth, such history, such grandeur and incredible beauty in Valletta, but as always, there are often parallel realities.
